Is Muskoka Boom Trucks the company that does the lift?
No. Muskoka Boom Trucks is an independent referral service. We pass your request to a local independent boom truck operator who quotes and does the job. Your agreement is with that operator.
How much does a boom truck cost in Muskoka?
Typical boom truck jobs run about $600 to $1,600. These are estimates only. The real price depends on the job, reach, weight, travel and time on site. See the cost guide for more detail.
What information do I need to give?
Your town, what needs lifting, the approximate weight and size, how far it needs to go from where the truck can park, and your preferred date. Photos help the most.
How close does the truck need to get?
The truck needs firm, fairly level ground to set its outriggers, within reach of the landing spot. Reach drops as the load gets heavier, so the operator will match the truck to your job.
Can a boom truck work near power lines?
Operators must keep a safe, legal distance from overhead lines. Point out any wires in your photos. In some cases the utility may need to be contacted.
Do spring road restrictions affect booking?
They can. Many municipal and private roads in the area have reduced load limits in spring. The operator will know which roads are affected and may suggest a different date.
Can you help with water-access or island properties?
A boom truck can't drive to an island, but it can load materials onto a barge at a landing or marina. You'll need a barge or marine contractor for the water part.
Should I ask the operator for proof of insurance?
Yes. Before any work starts, ask the operator for proof of liability insurance and, where it applies, WSIB coverage. A good operator won't mind.
How fast can I get a quote?
That depends on operator availability and the season. Spring and fall dock season is busiest, so it helps to send your request as early as you can.
Is there a charge for using this site?
No. Sending a request is free and doesn't commit you to anything.
